POETRY | The Era of Depleting Human Emotions by Pallavi Rajput

Hey Wait!
I just want to have a word with you,

I know you are running out of time,
Everyone else’s words matter more than mine;
But just wait, wait for a while,
All I want to see is your smile.
The one that reaches your eyes;
And is trying so hard to drown all lies;
So just smile for a while,
No, no, not for me but for the one that made you laugh
your bones out last time,
Remember.
And the one who is there when you need,
Always first and upbeat.
So just smile as you replay those bits in your head.
And wait a little longer,
All I want to see is your anger.
Against all those incommodious moments,
When you were latched behind your ideas,
And being mocked by de-rooted soul mafias,
It’s okay to foster anger,
But don’t dwell there forever,
Just sail offshore and don’t make it your home.
So, step out of that dome, and tell me at length,
All I want to see is your strength
That made you float through all the regress,
Made you fight when you were depressed,
Painted rainbows out of the words you once swallowed
Made you fly after the fall and realize that’s not all.
The thought that broke out of your bones and made you sparkle,
Don’t let it fade till you wrinkle.
So wait, just wait till the sunrise,
All I want to see is you surprised,
Not just at the arrival of your love or the pouring rains above,
At the glittering smiles of the toddler,
And the sweet little joys of the baker.
Bundle this surprise into reprise,
And wait till the sky is clear,
All I want to see is your fear,
The one that tore your integrity down,
Made you sweat with that frown,
Pushed you out of the town.
Those memories that crackle your mind,
And solace is something hard to find.
Dive into that dark ocean of doom,
And wait till the roses bloom;
All I want to see is your love.
When every worldly concern you shove,
With a pounding heart on your lips;
And beckoning sunset with quips,
Love for one and love for all,
Give it out at every life stall,
Till the world drowns in it,
And seamless togetherness is knit.
Leave this prairies then after,
And wait for a little longer.
All I want to see in your kindness;
The surreal joy it brings breaking harness.
The art to empathize is what makes us humans,
Soak into these feelings and embrace these humane dwellings,
For you are only human and so am I.

  4. People living by their words are hard to come by these days. Don't know you enough but have seen you go for things you want to do, say what you want to say. Seeing people practicing what they preach(like you), makes me want to express what I feel to the world too...
